Around 220 young people start their apprenticeship at the Nagel-Group

Versmold/Borgholzhausen, 1 August 2018 – The Nagel-Group is pleased to welcome around 220 young apprentices from all over Germany at the start of a new apprenticeship year. 33 new apprentices from this group will start their careers with introductory events in Borgholzhausen and Versmold.

Marion Nagel, Chairperson of the Administrative Board of the Nagel-Group emphasises: "The apprenticeship is a very important stage in a young person's life. It is therefore our goal to prepare the young people by providing practical training for their daily work right from the start of their professional career, be it apprenticeship or studies.”

The apprentices at the Nagel-Group will cover all areas related to their specialisation during the three-year apprenticeship. This practical knowledge can be meaningfully combined with theoretical knowledge acquired at the vocational college, and additionally at the university in the case of students pursuing dual degree courses.

As the leading food logistics specialist in Germany and one of the best training companies in logistics, the Nagel-Group offers numerous exciting career prospects which cover professions and dual degree courses ranging from professional drivers to warehouse workers, commercial staff, and IT specialists.

33 new apprentices in Borgholzhausen and Versmold

The corporate headquarters in Versmold welcomed 17 new apprentices on 1 August 2018. Among these are seven apprentices training to be freight forwarders and logistics operators, two apprentices training to be IT administrators, one apprentice training to be an IT specialist (specialising in system integration), one apprentice training to be a motor vehicle body and construction mechanic, and six students pursuing dual degree courses in logistics or IT with business studies. They were given an overview of the site on the first day and learned more about the apprenticeship curricula. "It is important to us that the new apprentices are well informed from the outset, feel comfortable right from the start, and have a successful apprenticeship," says Ulrich Mihatsch, Training Manger in Versmold and responsible for Training and Development at the Nagel-Group's German subsidiary.

16 young people will start their apprenticeship at Kraftverkehr Nagel in Borgholzhausen this year. The branch welcomed 12 apprentices training to be freight forwarders and logistics operators and 2 apprentices training to be professional drivers. The Nagel-Group in Borgholzhausen has further expanded its range of apprenticeship opportunities for the apprenticeship year 2018. The Borgholzhausen branch is offering two places for students pursuing dual degree courses in Bachelor of Arts (FH/DH) in logistics. “As one of the largest training companies in the region, we are committed to offering a well-rounded and practical apprenticeship," says Caroline Eurlings, Training Manager at the branch. Therefore, dedicated contact persons at individual sites offering apprenticeships support the young apprentices not only in the first weeks but throughout their apprenticeship.

The new apprentices are first introduced to the company at their sites, so as to make it as easy as possible for them to start their careers. At the end of the first month of apprenticeship, new apprentices from all over Germany come together in Versmold for a comprehensive orientation programme to get to know each other and the Nagel-Group better.

Around 600 young people are undertaking apprenticeships across the Nagel-Group all over Germany. This makes the Nagel-Group one of the biggest training companies in logistics in Germany, and also one of the most successful. The Nagel-Group has repeatedly claimed the top positions in the "Best Azubi" (best apprentice) competition in recent years. This competition is organised by the trade magazine "Verkehrsrundschau".
