Around 200 new apprentices start their apprenticeship at the Nagel-Group

Versmold/Borgholzhausen, 4 August 2020 – The Nagel-Group is pleased to welcome around 200 young apprentices from all over Germany at the start of a new apprenticeship year. Among them are also 27 new apprentices who started their careers at the Borgholzhausen and Versmold sites.

“We consider it our responsibility to offer young people the opportunity for sound education and training, thus paving the way forward for promising careers,” says Carsten Taucke, CEO of Nagel-Group. “Our mission is to prepare young people for their professional life as best as possible because today’s apprentices are tomorrow’s specialists and managers.”

As the leading food logistics company in Germany and one of the best training companies in logistics, the Nagel-Group offers numerous exciting career prospects: It covers professions and dual-degree courses ranging from professional drivers to warehouse assistants, commercial staff, and IT specialists. Altogether, the Nagel-Group offers apprenticeships in eight different professions.

The apprentices at the Nagel-Group will cover the entire range of topics relevant to their specialisation during the three-year apprenticeship. This practical knowledge can be meaningfully combined with theoretical knowledge acquired at the vocational college, and additionally at the university in the case of students pursuing dual-degree courses.

On 3 August 2020, the company headquarters in Versmold welcomed 16 new apprentices. On the first day, the six prospective specialists in freight forwarding and logistics services, two specialists in IT system management, one IT specialist in system integration, one bodywork and vehicle mechanic, as well as six students pursuing dual-degree courses in business administration or business IT, were given an overview of the site and familiarised themselves with the training plans. “We consider it important that our new apprentices are well informed right from the start, feel at home and experience a successful apprenticeship on all levels,” says Ulrich Mihatsch, Training Manager in Versmold and person responsible for central vocational training at the Nagel-Group in Germany.

Eleven young people are starting their apprenticeships at Kraftverkehr Nagel in Borgholzhausen this year. The branch today welcomed eight specialists in freight forwarding and logistics services, a professional driver, and two students pursuing dual-degree courses in business administration.

“One of our key objectives is to encourage and challenge young people. As one of the largest training companies in the region, we focus on professionally-grounded and practice-oriented training,” says Caroline Eurlings, Training Manager at the branch. For this reason, qualified trainers in the individual departments support the young professionals not only during the first weeks but throughout the entire apprenticeship.
