Work-life balance

Nagel Austria has been certified as a family-friendly company

The Nagel-Group attaches great importance to family-friendly company culture. This is also evident at Nagel Austria. Our Austrian subsidiary has been officially certified as a "family-friendly employer".

"We are delighted that our family-friendly initiatives have been officially recognised," says Thomas Peklar, Managing Director of Nagel Austria. He adds: "This encourages us to continue our efforts resolutely in this direction." Nagel Austria was awarded the seal of approval by the Federal Ministry of Family and Youth in September. This seal of approval was awarded to the branches in Traiskirchen, St. Florian, Kramsach, and Zettling. The certification was undertaken by the independent TÜV SÜD Landesgesellschaft Österreich GmbH.

Working hours — family circumstances are taken into consideration

The family-friendly company culture also applies to working hours, especially shift work. As far as possible, the employee's family circumstances are taken into consideration. This can be in connection with child care or care of other family members. It is also possible in this respect to switch over to part-time work.

The comprehensive certification also covers employee-friendly conditions: for instance, management culture or information and communication policy. In practice, this means that important information reaches all employees, even if they do not work full-time. Staff development has also contributed to making Nagel Austria a family-friendly employer. Each employee is challenged and supported according to their abilities and expectations.

Company doctor and health promotion

Health promotion completes the package of measures to achieve a better work-life balance. A company doctor visits the branches once a month so employees can have their medical check-ups done at their convenience. Bowls with fresh fruit are made available in the social rooms to promote healthy nutrition.

Having said this, those in charge have no plans to rest on their laurels. After all, the certification is valid only for three years and has to be renewed again. Herbert Grill, Managing Director of Nagel Austria emphasises: "We will continue to improve and optimise the family-friendly working conditions."
