User-friendliness is further increased

Tracking & Tracing for mobile devices optimized

The Nagel-Group is further adapting its forwarding processes to digitisation: This is why a version of the Tracking & Tracing shipment information system has also been developed for mobile devices.

Tracking & Tracing makes it possible for staff and customers to get information online at any time about the status of individual consignments. Proof of delivery status is displayed, as well as information on the shipment. The digital delivery note can, for instance, be downloaded as a pdf. The application is part of the eLogistics portal, and is currently accessed by around 6,000 active users. With its optimisation for mobile devices, information on shipments can now be retrieved on a Tablet, for instance. This improves user-friendliness and offers customers extra added value, which is increasingly in demand on the customer side.

“We are making consistent progress with digitisation,” explains Frank Niklaus, Head of Corporate Operational Application Systems (COAS). The COAS area has developed and tested the mobile version jointly with CAL Consult, the Nagel- Group’s software company. As well as the clear design, a lot of emphasis was placed on a high basic speed. The mobile version is multi- lingual and will be used in all the Nagel-Group companies. The project is part of the Nagel-Group’s IT strategy: actively engaging with development opportunities arising as a result of digitisation. In connection with this, the Nagel-Group is planning to optimise other forwarding applications for mobile devices.
